About Me.

Hello. My name is Yue (pronounced: yoo-eh). I'm a counsellor and psychotherapist trained to MSc level, working full time in private practice. I’m registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Clients (18+) work with me on a variety of issues, including relationships, stress, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, loss and grief, and neurodivergence. I have worked with clients from all walks of life, and with a wide range of ages.
I have also worked in a psychotherapy research clinic within higher education.
I primarily use the person-centred approach, which means I honour you as an individual with your unique experiences, and I allow you the time and space to explore the issues you may have, at your own pace.
Before transitioning to the mental health field, I worked as a department manager in a publishing corporation (Beijing, China) and then in the field of international copyright licensing (UK).
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy.

What happens in a therapy session?

You simply express whatever is bothering you. It could be a difficult event in your life, and/or troubling feelings about yourself or others. I will listen to you attentively, working with your feelings, emotions, verbal and non-verbal expressions, providing feedback when appropriate. I endeavour to hold a space that enables you to feel accepted, nurtured, and supported. The spirit of collaboration is the foundation to my work. As you begin to trust our therapeutic relationship and our work together, you may feel more relaxed and naturally tap into your inner resources of wisdom and ideas, gaining a sense of ease, clarity, strength, an increased tolerance of difficulties, or the enthusiasm to try something new.
